Prairie Dog Pioneers

Authors: Jo Harper, Craig Spearing, and Josephine L. Harper
Average review score:

Inspiring, educational, & captivating for all ages!
It was a rare moment with my daughter, nestled under the covers. "Praire Dog Pioneers" was not a mere story--it was an adventure that soothed us after a full day. It was so relaxing and interesting. My daughter, a five year old, was truly delighted with the characters and tale. We went back through time to join a family relocating. My daughter immediately identified with the youngest character, and was so caught up with her character and feelings, that she rooted for her all along. In quite a natural way, this book emphasizes the importance of integrity, acceptance, love, and family values. It also deals with some realities we all face. It is educational, colorful, historical, and positively inspiring. The text and illustrations are both truly a work of Art. The story encouraged us to sing a folk song together afterwards, which was the perfect bond for parent and child right before bedtime. This is a must for every family!

Principles of Patent Law: 1999 Supplement: Cases and Materials
Published in Paperback by Foundation Press (August, 1999)
Authors: Donald S. Chisum, Craig Allen Nard, Herbert F. Schwartz, Pauline Newman, and F. Scott Kieff
Average review score:

The Patent Guru's book
Which is one author's name which comes to the mind of a patent law attorney for authoritative patent information? Donald Chisum is one of the foremost authority on patent law. His other book is a giant encylopaedia on patents. Honestly, many many of us are never going to read that big encylopaedia. But the same man along with Nard, Swartz, Newman and Kieff has written this casebook. This book is a must read for all those who want to get the best of Chisum's knowledge of patents.

It has the mandatory history part followed by philosophy and economics of patent law. There are two excellent chapters on Nonobvoiousness and and Utility. Cases are selected with care and properly edited. There are some sidebars too.

Everything you need to know in one place!
Production for the Graphic Designer promises to provide the reader with everything he/she needs to know in order to produce books and other graphic works. And this book fulfills its promise! In a thorough and lucid manner, this books describes, step-by-step all aspects of graphic production. My illustration instructor told me that this book is "selling like hot-cakes", and now I know why. I see this book as the final step in acquiring all the knowledge I need to produce my own books.

The Prophecies: A Journey to the end of time ...
Published in Paperback by Prophecy Press (08 November, 1999)
Author: Craig Crawford
Average review score:

Brought Into Perspective
Without a doubt, reading this book has changed my perspective on a lot of what the Bible has to offer mankind and his/her destiny. I have never experienced such an easy-to-understand point-of-view on the Christian way of belief. Truly, this book about the LORD's prophecies is, in a sense, written through a prophetic means. It is in my best interest, now, to learn all that I can about the subject of this book, and to spread the knowledge to all of whom I care about.

The Pseudepigrapha and Early Biblical Interpretation (Jsp Supplement)
Published in Hardcover by Sheffield Academic Pr (May, 1994)
Authors: James H. Charlesworth and Craig A. Evans
Average review score:

A Fascinating Insight
This book contains a number of well-written essays on the "Old Testament" "Pseudepigrapha" and how such works were first interpreted. The insights to I Enoch and Jubilees, along with 4 Ezra and various books of the Apocrypha were particularly enlightening.

It is interesting to note the possible (dis)connection between the Apostle Paul and his theory of sin entering the world through one man and the teaching in the book of Sirach that sin enters the world through the woman. Perhaps both are true? Or, perhaps, Paul was trying to address an issue that he felt was untrue?

This is one of the books that puts early Christianity in its context more than many of the others because works such as Sirach are, in this book, evaluated as being just as important and relevant as the "canon" of Scripture itself.

For those interested in early Christianity, early Judaism, the "canon" of the Bible, and the writings of the New Testament in the context they were written in, this is an essential piece of literature to have.
